Lutheran Women in Mission adopts a Specific Ministry Path (SMP) Seminary Student and supports them through graduation and ordination by collecting donations from the congregation on the third Sunday of each month. An SMP student is typically a second-career seminary student, studying while also holding down a job and raising a family. The funds collected by Lutheran Women in Mission is forwarded to the SMP student on a quarterly basis to assist in paying for their books and tuition.

The Ladies’ Luncheon is scheduled for 11:00 AM on the fourth Saturday of the month at the Mat-Su Family Diner (in Value Village Mall). These luncheons are “Dutch Treat.”

Lutheran Women in Mission (LWML) collects mites the first Sunday of every month. These mites are divided evenly among several charities voted on by the LWML every year. The 2025 charities are: Alaska Mission for Christ, Carry the Cure, Heart Reach Pregnancy Center, Mat-Su Food Bank, My House Homeless Youth Center, and a Specific Ministry Program (SMP) Seminary Student. Please drop any loose change, folding money (or even checks!) you can spare into the little white church located on the table in the Fellowship Hall.
